NAC's second Airbus-330 "Makalu" arrives at TIA

KATHMANDU, July 26: The second wide-body Airbus of Nepal Airlines has arrived today on July 26. The first wide-body of the airline, "Annapurna" was brought in June 28. The second wide-body has been brought for long flights and to carry a large number of passengers. The ship was brought to Tribhuwan International Airport at 9 am. The plane was brought by the team of Managing Director Sugat Ratna Kansakar and captain of the plane.

The Airbus of 330-200 series is named as “Makalu” with the call sign “9N-ALY”. The Airbus will be flying after receiving the approval letter for daily flight service. The previous flight will be operated on August 1 after receiving AOC. The Managing Director of the Airlines Sugatratna Kanskar said that the Makalu ship will be flying within 20 days.

There are altogether 274 seats in the plane among them 18 are the business class seat. This flight will make traveling easier as the flight can carry a large number of passengers as well as it can fly for long distance.

NAC General Manager Sugat Ratna Kansakar shared the government and tourism entrepreneurs have placed hope on NAC that it would play the important role in making the Visit Nepal 2020 year successful. The government targets to bring in two million tourists by marking 2020 as the Visit Nepal Year.

“NAC’s planes will conduct flights to Europe and the US. Other Asian destinations and the neighboring countries will obviously be linked,” he said, adding that NAC flights are conducted in every destination with airports.

Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia will be new international destinations. NAC has also planned to conducts flights to various cities of India, China, and Myanmar and Vietnam.
