NAGARKOT, March 23: The tourist sector of Nagarkot has been affected by the risk of transmission of Corona virus (COVID 19). About 150 hotels and restaurants have become deserted with increasing risk of corona virus infection.

Now, the tourists visiting Nagarkot are almost like zero. Hotel entrepreneur Dhan Bahadur Lama said the entrepreneurs are in trouble as business has become vacant. They said they are now unable to pay the loan taken by the bank. Hotel entrepreneurs are compelled to have long-term staffing cuts due to the lack of tourists.

Nabin Gurung, Chairman of the Nagarkot Naldum Tourism Development Committee, said that for now  there is no staff cuts but if the condition remains the same, there will be a situation of staff cuts and closure of the hotels. Chairman Gurung complained that they had problems with paying the bank's installments and interest after the tourists arrival stopped. He demanded the government to make arrangements to extend the bank's installment and repayment time.
