NARA and NATHM organizes river guide training

KATHMANDU, April 06: A River Guide training (license course) has been started with the objective of enabling water tourism. The training, organized by the Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) and the  Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM), was inaugurated on Monday.

Speaking at the inaugural function of the training, Achyut Guragain, Chief Guest, expressed his confidence that the training would be fruitful for the production of skilled manpower. The program was chaired by Dipak Thapa, Executive Director of the NATHM.

The training is said to last for 15 days. Shishir Khanal, General Secretary of NARA, informed that the training will be held for 12 days in theory and 3 days in the river (practically). 34 trainees are participating in the training. The training has been coordinated by Nepal Tourism Board. Secretary General Khanal said that the training would be helpful for the production of efficient river guides required for the Rafting business.
