National Indigenious Women's Federation offers financial aid to FWJEE18

KATHMANDU, Mar 21: The National Indigenious Women's Federation UK has offered financial support to the First Women Journalists Everest Expedition 2018, who are attempting to scale the Mt. Everest on coming April/May.

The organisation reported that it has offered Rs. 64,000 in financial support to the team of five women journalists as an acknowledgement of their courage. The team consists of Rosha Basnet (RSS), Priya Laxmi Karki (News 24), Kalpana Maharjan (Mega Television), Rojita Bajracharya (Nepal Television), and Deurali Chamling (freelancer).

Sita Karki handed over the sum to the mountaineers' team in Kathmandu recently on behalf of the organization. The team is the first group of women journalists to scale the Mt Everest. Tourism Department official Gyanendra Lal Shrestha, who in 2011 climbed the Everest with a government employees' team, says that their success will mark a new milestone for Nepal in the mountaineering sector.
