NATTA and ABTO make agreement for joint tourism promotion

KATHMANDU, Apr 12: The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has entered into an agreement with the Association of Buddhist Tours Operators (ABTO) Bihar for attracting Buddhist tourists to Nepal.
 
President of NATTA, C.N. Pandey and General Secretary of ABTO, Dr. Kadesh Kumar, sat for a discussion on Monday regarding promotion of Buddhist tourism sites during which the two parties entered into an agreement. Co-Treasurer of NATTA, Surendra Bhattarai, informed that the agreement involved attracting Buddhist tourists visiting India to Nepal, and vice versa. As both India and Nepal are contain locations important in the Buddhist faith, they attract a significant number of Buddhist pilgrims each year. The agreement involves attracting tourists who visit one of these countries towards the other as well.
NATTA President Pandey said the meeting discussed moving forward with increasing Buddhist tourists while preserving the Buddhist heritage sites.
