KATHMANDU, Aug 30: The Nepal Association of Tours and Travel Agents (NATTA) is composing a joint work committee with airlines companies to work on common issues faced by the two industries.
The joint work committee would enter into discussions with the relevant government bodies including the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, the Tourism Ministry, the Nepal Tourism Board, the Immigration Department, and the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to solve issues faced by the aviation and travel industries.
A recent meeting between airlines representatives and NATTA members discussed demands including decreasing the airport landing fees, provision of cheaper airplane fuel in the country, etc. President of NATTA, C.N. Pandey, said that as the government has declared 2020 to be tourism year, with the aim of attracting 2 million tourists, it would have to help and support airline companies.
