Nepal Airline services will be prompt, assures minister

KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Jeevan Bahadur Shahi has assured to make the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) services effective and prompt.


Speaking at a meeting of the International Relations and Labour Committee under the Legislature-Parliament here today, Minister Shahi shared that around five million Nepali people who are currently in foreign lands could be a big market for the NAC.

Speaking at a meeting of the Committee, lawmaker Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the parliamentary committee should be supportive to the development.

Lawmaker Rajan Bhattarai demanded an effective management of the NAC employees for prompt services.

Similarly, lawmakers Shyam Shrestha and Prem Suwal also stressed the effective services of the national flag carrier.

The NAC General Manager Sugat Ratna Kanshakar said that there was no possibility of embezzlement while purchasing the aircraft from Europe.

Similarly, Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Shanta Raj Subedi added that the Ministry was ready to manage the budget to purchase the aircraft as the NAC had forwarded the process to purchase two aircraft worth around Rs 25 billion.
