Nepal China Books Center launches 10 franchise book stores in Nepal

KATHMANDU, May 07: Nepal China Books Center, on Sunday launched 10 franchise book stores in Nepal in a bid to expand knowledge and understanding between the two neighbors.
Amid a ceremony organized in the capital city, 10 book stores of Nepal signed the agreement with Nepal Tianli Publication and Culture Company, the flagship store of Nepal China Books Center.
The event was attended by officials of Chinese Embassy in Nepal, representatives of different Nepali publishing houses and literary enthusiasts.
The new chain stores include Bhrikuti Book Center, Himalaya Book Stall, Himalaya Book Center, Himal Kitab Pvt. Ltd and Pragati Book Center among others. Under the cooperation, the books are published in Chinese, Nepali and English languages.
Addressing the launching ceremony, speakers highlighted that the books will enable the Nepali people to help understand China better.
"We are very glad to have this cooperation in the sector of wisdom and knowledge. It will help Nepali people to learn about Chinese history, art, culture and development. It will deepen people to people ties," Jibendra Dev Giri, Member Secretary at Nepal Academy, said.
Chen Xiaoshuang, head of Nepal Tianli Publication and Culture Company, said that this cooperation can contribute in the education sector under Belt and Road Initiative. He further informed that the chain book stores will be soon opened in other cities of Nepal as well.
On the occasion, Nepal Tianli Publication and Culture Company also donated books to three libraries of Nepal. The books were distributed to Tribhuvan University Center Library, Kathmandu University Library and Kathmandu Valley Public Library.
