KATHMANDU: Nepal on Sunday observed “Shrawan Sakranti” or the first day of Shrawan, the fourth month on the basis of Lunar Calendar. The day embarks the end of the paddy plantation and the day to throw the scabies away.
According to the Hindu belief the fourth month on Lunar Calendar marks the month devoted to lord Shiva. Married and unmarried females on this month go fasting on Monday wearing sacred clothes. The married ones keep the fasting for a longer life of their husbands whereas the unmarried ones pray with lord Shiva for a best match.
