Nepal to revive its air agreement with Thailand

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: A week after a bilateral air agreement between Nepal and Thailand is being reviewed. Aviation officials are going to conduct a meeting among two countries on November 1 and 2. For this, Nepali team will go to Thailand.

According to the Joint Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Buddha Sagar Lamichhane, Nepal has purposed to have permission to land on any airport of Thailand and to conduct 3 flights per day and 21-42 flights per week. Thailand is also preparing to have agreement on conducting flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport.

Currently, Thai Airways and Thailand Airlines have been flying in Nepal from Thailand whereas Nepal Airlines has been conducting flights to Thailand from Nepal. After the agreement Himalaya Airline will also conduct its flights to Thailand.

Ang Pemba Sherpa, General Secretary of Trekking Agencies Association, said that the agreement of Thailand will be very fruitful for coming visit Nepal 2020 campaign and as Lumbini is the birth place of Gautam Buddha people of Thailand will visit Nepal in large scale.
