Nepal Tourism Minister threatens with action against those responsible for slow construction of infrastructures

KATHMANDU, Sep 13: The Government of Nepal has warned to punish the related bodies if the ongoing construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport at Bhairahawa lags behind.
The warning to take serious action against related parties for delay in the construction of airport was given by Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Jitendra Narayan Dev. He also informed that the company responsible for contract has been informed to speed up the construction process of Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Declaring the 60 day memo of the current economic year at a press conference on Sunday, Minister Dev said that he has put the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport, Pokhara International Airport and Nijgadh International Airport on top priority.
He further clarified that the contractor company responsible for the construction of Gautam Buddha International Airport was the cause for the delay and warned further delay to result immediate action.
But minister Dev claimed construction of Pokhara International Airport to be working smoothly. He also expressed a commitment to start working to establish the birthplace of Gautam Buddha as a major tourism point of the world.
He also said that he will speed up the infrastructure development work of Pashupatinath Temple, which has remained a central point for the Hindu faith all around the world.
Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to prepare a master plan to develop a Hindu circuit across the country.
Minister Dev also said that he will start working to develop the quality of the Civil Aviation service of the country.
