Nepalgunj Airport to construct 6 parking bay

NEPALGUNJ, Nov 02: Nepalgunj Airport is going to expand its parking capacity. To develop Nepalgunj Airport as Regional Airport they have started construction to add 6 Parking Bay at the airport. Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari inaugurated the construction of parking bay. He expressed his believe in the completion of the construction before the given time.
The government has plans to develop this airport as regional airport and operate flights in the neighboring countries. Minister Adhikari said that within 2-3 months the airport will start to construct terminal house. Premnath Thakur, Chief of Airport said that the airport is being constructed in order to operate international flights and after the construction of 6 parking bay there will be space to accommodate 6 ATR planes. The parking bay is being constructed by investing Two hundred 85 million rupees.
The airport has been conducting flights to Humla, Jumla, Bajura, Dolpa, Rara, Safebagar and Kathmandu. Thakur says that they are planning to conduct flights to Bajhang from Nepalgunj. Likewise Minister Adhikari has directed Nepalgunj airport to conduct flights in other airports too. Tara Air, Summit Air, NAC, Sita Air, Shree Air, Saurya Air, Buddha Air and Yeti Air have been flying from Nepalgunj Airport. Nepalgunj Airport operates around 40 flights and it has reached to 70-80 during the tourism season.
