Nepali team successfully climbs Mount Baruntse

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: A Nepali team has successfully climbed Mount Baruntse  on Thursday. According to Mira Acharya, Director of the Department of Tourism , seven people led by Dawa Steven Sherpa climbed Mount  Baruntse on Thursday.

The Mt. Baruntse  in the Khumbu region is 7,129 meters high. A 36-year-old Sherpa-led team had left for the mountain on September 6. The climb was managed by the Asian Trekking Company. This is the second successful climbing of this season.

The first successful climbing of this year was by a team led by Bahrain's Prince Sheikh Mohammed al Khalifa. The Bahraini team had climbed Lobuche Mountain on 3rd October. The same team had also climbed Mt. Manaslu  on 15th October.
