Nepali victims of aircraft accidents to receive the same insurance compensation as foreign citizens

KATHMANDU, July 18: The Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari, has informed that there will now be no difference in the insurance amount received by Nepali and foreign nationals who are victims of aircraft accidents.
Speaking at the inauguration program of the high quality tourist bus service that started at Sauraha, Chitwan, he said that the new rule for the insurance received by air passengers has been passed by the ministers' council. According to the old rule, Nepali citizens who are victims of air accidents used to receive 3 million rupees while foreign citizens used to receive 15 million rupees.
The minister also informed that the number of air routes available to Nepal has been increased to 8 locations. Additionally, he mentioned the speedy progress of the various airport construction progress around the country.
