New ‘century trekking trail’ introduced for Dhaulagiri base camp

KATHMANDU, Jan 8 : A new "Dhaulagiri Century trekking trail" with trekking duration of 7 days has been explored in southern side of Dhaulagiri base camp.


Dhaulagiri trekking region known as one of the adventures and challenging trekking trip in Nepal lies in the western part of Nepal with Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters), the seventh highest mountain in the world.


This trekking trail route starts from Beni bazaar’s Jhi headquarter of Myagdi, Pakhapani, Rayakhor, Ghyashi Kharka, Chari, Phedi, Saharsa Vir, Odar Camp to Dhaulagiri camp and departing route Chari, Ghyashi Kharka, Chim Khola, Damirza, Dagnam , Galeshwor temple to Beni bazaar.


Trekkers from Kathmandu shall stay at night in Beni, Jhi, Ghyashi Kharka, Phedi, Odar Camp, Base camp and in Dagnam.


"This short span trekking trail will attract more number of tourists in Dhaulagiri area," Pawan Shakya Director Operations, Himalayan Map House said.


By organizing training for local people for home stay, guest serving, placing directions symbol in trekking route, will make this trekking trail effective, researcher said.
