New Tara Air aircraft starts commercial flights to Lukla

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Tara Air has started flight of its new aircraft at Lukla. The new Dornier DO 228 Aircraft had arrived at Kathmandu on Saturday, and has started commercial flights from Monday.

Tara Air spokesperson Bhimraj Rai said that the aircraft took off on its first flight at 6:30 am from Kathmandu to Falpu Airport in Lukla. The 18-seat aircraft will fill flights from Kathmandu to Lukla.

Tara Air currently operates 4 DHC 6-300 Twin Otter and 3 Dornier DO 228-212 aircraft. The Dornier 228 is a suitable aircraft for high mountainous regions and is easily taken off ground and landed.
