KATHMANDU, Feb 16: Tribhuvan International Airport is opening a new two-storey parking facility on its premises starting on April 14.

Currently, there are some final works remaining in the link road from the arrival to the parking. The link road had already been constructed but required some extension as it was too narrow.

The airport has also produced a 12-point manual for the operation of the parking facility, including details like traffic management, drinking water, parking rates, and trolley management, etc.

With the construction of the parking facility, the airport entrance and exit will be changed too. The new arrangement includes the entrance at the golden gate while it will be possible to exit the airport through the parking. It will be possible to enter the parking directly from the arrival which will reduce crowding in front of the airport building.

The parking is designed to fit 550 cars. Other establishments including restaurants, stores as well as a shopping center and spa house will be opened around the parking facility.
