New trekking route under construction in Jhakrepani

KATHMANDU, July 18: A new trekking route is being constructed to connect the center of Mangala Village Municipality, Babiyachaur, to the tourism destination of Jhakrepani. The Mangala Village Municipality is developing the trekking route to promote and develop the Jhakrepani area, which has lagged behind despite tremendous potential for tourism.
The Village Municipality has contributed a total of Rs. 400,000 for the construction of the trekking route while locals have contributed about Rs. 150,000. Until now, the construction has been done over a distance of 150 m through Pulchowk, Arman, towards Gahate, informed the Secretary of the consumer committee, Bal Prasad Rokka.
Jhakrepani is situated 2500 meters above the sea level and offers beautiful view of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, and other mountains, hills, forests and sunset. A view tower is also soon to be constructed in the village to attract more tourists.
