Cathay Pacific starts Hong Kong-Kathmandu flight

KATHMANDU, Oct 02: Hong Kong's state-owned airline Cathay Pacific has started Hong Kong-Kathmandu-Hong Kong flights from Saturday. Cathay will operate two flights a week on this route.

Cathay, which started flying with Airbus A330 series aircraft has got an afternoon slot. Before the Corona pandemic, Cathay's sister airline, Cathay Dragon, had regular flights, but canceled the flight in between. However, the cargo flight continued.

However, now instead of Dragon, Cathay Pacific itself has started regular flights. Hong Kong is an important air destination with a majority of Nepalese. The company said that it will be easy to go from Kathmandu to destinations like America, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan via Hong Kong.

Founded 76 years ago, Cathay currently operates regular flights to 89 destinations from 171 aircraft.
