Pokhara and Gautam Buddha International Airport don't need to be built: Nepal Chairman Unified Socialist

KATHMANDU, March 25: Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of the CPN(Unified Socialist) Party, stated that the construction of Pokhara International Airport and Gautam Buddha International Airport is no longer necessary.

Chairman Nepal stated in a program organized by the party's economic planning department on Friday that Nijgarh should be built before Pokhara and Bhairahawa International Airports. He claimed that despite billions of rupees invested in the Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airports, there has been no return.

Was Pokhara International Airport required today? Was Lumbini an emergency? Billions of dollars have been spent there. There is money invested there. Think about the return on that investment. It is of interest. If the same money had been invested elsewhere, it would have yielded a profit. For example, if an airport were built in Nijgadh, the Nijgadh airport would have met our requirements "He stated.

According to  former Prime Minister Nepal, the country's needs cannot be prioritized. We don't even put needs first.
