Vietnamese-American billionaire Chinh Chu climbs Mt Everest

KATHMANDU, May 17:Mt. Everest has been successfully ascended by a billionaire Vietnamese American businessman. According to reports, he reached Mount Everest on Wednesday with the assistance of a record-holding Sherpa climber.

Leader in the finance world, Chinh Chu, Founder and Managing Director of CC Capital, is said to have climbed the world's highest peak at 8:40 am along with 27th Mt Everest climber Kamirita Sherpa.
 
Chinh Chu's net worth is believed to be US$1.2 billion. He made his fortune as Senior Managing Director & Co-Chair in the Private Equity Group of Blackstone Group LLC. Chu began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department at Salomon Brothers before joining Blackstone in 1990. Chinh Chu is currently the Founder and Senior Managing Director of CC Capital. He went to the University of Buffalo.
