Karnali Tourism Entrepreneurs Society drew attention of Minister Kirati
KATHMANDU, May 22:The Karnali Tourism Entrepreneurs society has called on Tourism Minister Sudan Kirati to address issues in the tourism industry.
Under the leadership of the society's president, Debikrishna Rokaya, the society attracted the minister's attention to the minister on Friday by making demands such as resolving the air service problem in Karnali and arranging mountain climbing arrangements.
"We have informed the minister about the problems in air flights in the Karnali region for a long time," President Rokaya stated, adding, "The minister is committed to the promotion of Karnali and necessary things, including the solution to the air service problems."
The officials, including the society's previous president, Jagan Bahadur Lama, have urged that measures be made to provide easy access to the mountains in the Karnali region.
Despite the fact that Karnali province has several mountains, the system of obtaining permits for climbing only as a group is currently in force. "We need a system where tourists can get permits not only as a group, but also as individuals," Lama added. "If this problem can be solved, the mountains of Karnali will also attract climber."
