301 mountaineers receive permits to scale Mt Manaslu

KATHMANDU, Sep 22:301 mountaineers receive permits to scale Mt Manaslu The biggest number of climbers have come to climb Manaslu (8163 meters) this autumn.

According to the department of tourism, 301 climbers, including 65 women from 26 climbing organizations, have obtained climbing licenses to climb Manaslu this season. A total of 339 climbers from 35 different climbing groups have applied for authorization to climb ten different summits and peaks, including Mt Manaslu.

Rakesh Gurung, the department's director, stated that a large number of climbers have arrived to climb Manaslu, and that climbing has been ongoing since Sunday, September 17. According to director Gurung, the team of record climber Nirmal Purja climbed Manaslu for the first time this season on Sunday. Three additional teams have also summited Manaslu. There are a lot of climbers right now. The procedure of issuing mountain climbing licenses has also been continued by department.

Mt Manaslu is the world's eighth highest peak and Nepal's seventh highest peak. Because autumn is the best season for climbing Manaslu, a large number of climbers visit during this time of year.
