NATTA and USAID successfully completed SEO training to enhance digital capacity building

KATHMANDU, Oct 05:The Nepal Association of Tour & Travel Agents (NATTA), in collaboration with USAID Trade and Competitiveness, proudly announces the successful completion of a series of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) training sessions aimed at strengthening digital capacity building within the tourism sector.

The collaborative “SEO Training” sessions were coordinated by Ms. Shradha Joshi, NATTA Executive member, and conducted in two key locations: Pokhara and Kathmandu. The Pokhara session took place on September 19 and 20, while the Kathmandu sessions were held on September 26 and 27, September 30 and October 1. These sessions were designed to equip participants with essential SEO skills to enhance their digital marketing strategies and improve their online presence.

The training sessions saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 companies, including tour operators, travel agents, and other stakeholders in the tourism industry. The comprehensive curriculum covered various aspects of SEO, including keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, content strategy, and analytics.

Closing session, held at Hotel Square in Pulchowk, was graced by the presence of the NATTA President Mr. Kumar Mani Thapaliya, Secretary General Ms. Yubika Bhandari, along with senior representatives from USAID, Monica Barrate, Acting Chief of Party USAID Trade and Competitiveness, Ujjwal Pokharel, Deputy Chief of Party Anita Mahat, Economic Growth Specialist, and other personnel. Their participation underscored the importance of this initiative in empowering the tourism sector to leverage digital tools for growth and competitiveness.

NATTA President expressed his gratitude to USAID for their invaluable support and collaboration. He emphasized the significance of digital skills in today’s competitive landscape and reiterated NATTA’s commitment to continuous learning and development for its members. USAID representatives highlighted the positive impact of such training programs on the local economy and the tourism sector’s resilience. They commended NATTA for its proactive approach to addressing the digital needs of its members and fostering a culture of innovation.

This initiative marks a significant milestone in NATTA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the digital capabilities of the tourism industry in Nepal.
