The International Balloon Festival started in the tourism city of Pokhara from Tuesday. The International Hot Air Balloon Festival has officially started in Pokhara, Nepal’s tourism capital. This much-anticipated event, taking place at Siran Pame near Phewa Lake, is set to run from December 24, 2024, to January 1, 2025.
A total of 17 hot air balloons from 15 different countries are taking to the skies, creating a dazzling sight. The festival is being organised by Balloon Nepal Pvt. Ltd. in partnership with the Pokhara Tourism Council.
The balloon flights cover a three-kilometre route stretching from Lauruk to Changkhapur in Pokhara Metropolitan City-24. Unlike regular flights that ascend to 9,000 feet, the balloons are flying at a maximum height of 5,000 feet for this event, ensuring the best views and safety for all participants.
