Nijgadh International Airport: First ever transit hub of Nepal

KATHMANDU, Sep 19: Nijgadh International Airport being constructed in Bara will be used as transit hub. The airport will be presented as world's model that's why it will be used as transit hub. Nepal Civil Aviation Authority said that the airport will be constructed in such a way that it can have direct flight in any corner of the world.
Culture, Tourism and civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari has said that this airport will be constructed as world's model by maintaining the greenery. In the press conference organized by the authority on Saturday, Adhikari said, "This is going to be constructed to make Nepal as an international transit hub
It is different from the Tribhuwan International, Pokhara and Gautam Buddha airport. " Currently, Bhutan is the only country that uses Nepal as its transit hub.
The Nijgadh Airport is currently one of the biggest projects being constructed in the world. It can be used as an international hub by international airways. This airport will be constructed by one runway at first phase. In the second phase, another two runways will be constructed having full capacity.
'The ability to fly the longest distance to the international level is up to 18 hours. "There will be the same flight capacity of Nijgadh airport," said General Director of Corporation; Sanjeev Gautam.
