NMA conducts chain anchor fixing and cleanup activities in trekking areas

KATHMANDU, July 22: The Nepal Mountaineering Association has successfully conducted chain anchor fixing in Ganjala Pass at Langtang, and has completed cleanup activities in Yala Peak Base Camp, New Kanga Base Camp, as well as around the Ganjala Pass area.
The cleanup program was headed by central work committee member Pasang Tendi along with volunteers. The total litter collected in these parts has amounted to 650 kgs.
Central work committee member and secretarial member Singi Lama has successfully taken initiative to install 55 sign posts in Paanchpokhari, Sindhupalchow till Tilmanpas. Similarly, work committee member Sanjiv Gurung has installed chain anchors in the route from Makalu Base Camp to Sherpinikol Pass, which are known as one of the most difficult mountain trekking routes. The anchor fixing was succeeded over the course of four weeks. Gurung’s team is currently heading to Tashilapcha Pass in Rolwaling to conduct study for chain anchor fixing in that location.
