NTB apologizes for misbehavior over tourists seen in viral video

KATHMANDU, Sep 19: Nepal Tourism Board in its press release has apologized for the misbehavior over two tourists in an video that has gone viral in social medias in recent days.

“Nepal Tourism Board, the National Tourism Organization of Nepal, has noted the recent news online regarding the alleged misbehavior to a British woman and her son by a Nepali woman on a trekking route in Nepal. On behalf of Nepal's tourism industry, we express deep regret and apologize for the inconvenience caused to our valued guests because of the incident. In Nepali culture ‘Guests are Gods’,” the statement reads.

It also has committed to ensure the security for the tourists in the coming days marking it as the top priority.

“This humiliation of our guests is our humiliation too, and we will make all possible efforts to make sure such incidents are avoided in future to ensure the safety and well being of our tourists as top priority,” the statement added.

Apart from it NTB also has acknowledged about the reporting of incident to the concerned authorities and an investigation team has already been dispatched for authentic inquiry into the matter. Meanwhile, it also is in an attempt to communicate with the concerned woman to try to understand her side of story and has made the commitment to release the facts as soon as they get the full report from the authorities.
