NTB to adopt federal structure for administration

KATHMANDU, Nov 29 : The Nepal Tourism Board has planned to establish office in Province no.7 with the aim to develop the area as well as to promote the tourism potentiality of the Mid-West and the Far West Region of Nepal.
The board has informed that it is working to establish offices in Kailali’s Dhangadhi or Attariya to expedite the plans. It also has included this plan in its budget plan unveiled some weeks before.
Implementation of plans from the Local Bodies
As per the directives of the Board, it should co-ordinate with the local bodies and allocates budgets to implement the tourism infrastructure development programs. These allocated budgets are to be flown out to the bodies in different phases depending on the progress of the project after making the 50 percent flow in first installment. The local bodies would be liable for the progress and development of the projects. Also the board will retain the authority of demanding for the progress report and survey the progress along with the projects implemented would prioritize the local participation.
Implementation of Programs followed by Procedure
The Tourism Board plans should be carried out only on the basis of procedures. The board has adopted the provision to follow the procedures for the implementation of the National and International tourism promotion. The projects should be carried out only after retaining permission from the Executive Committee; the board has passed the budget of 1.37 billion rupees for expenditure.
Pokhara Office renamed
The board now has established another regional office in Pokhara which already has started its operation. Now the regional office in Pokhara is renamed as “Nepal Tourism Board Province no. 4 Office”.
