NTJA forms 15-member work committee

KATHMANDU, July 01: The Nepal Tourism Journalists' Association State No. 4 has formed a 15-member work committee in its first general meeting, appointing Hari Bastola of RSS as its president.
The committee includes Govinda Subedi as its Senior Vice-President, Jamuna Barsa as Woman Vice-President, Ghanashyam Pandey as General Secretary, Bijay Rana as Secretary, Kamala Rana as Inclusive Secretary, and Rohit Basnet as the Treasurer, while Santosh Gautam, Rajan Upadhyay, Sushil Subedi, Ratna Gurung, Rohit Raj Prajauli and Bhupal Gurung have been appointed as the work committee members. The work committee will have a tenure of 3 years.
Regional President of the association, Dhaniram Sharma, said during the event that the organization has been established to develop the scope of beat journalism. He mentioned that State 4 has a large potential for tourism development, and as such there also has a good scope for tourism journalism.
President of Federation of Nepali Journalists State 4, Tribhuvan Poudel, said that the unionization of tourism journalists is a positive sign. The Nepal Tourism Journalists' Association has branches in 61 districts.
