Number of tourists increases in Siurung

KATHMANDU, Aug 03: As the number of tourist increases in Siurung, Lamjung the villages are returning to their village. The number of internal as well as external tourists is increasing in the village. The local resident of the village Shri Maya Gurung said that he have returned to his village with this family to start their own business.
After the increaser of tourist in the village the villagers are excited and have constructed the infrastructures by themselves. They have started the home stay in 17 houses. The villagers who have recently returned back to their village are now busy in serving the tourists.
Daily 30 visitors visits the village said Amar Bahadur Gurung , Secretary of Sirung Tourism Development Committee. He said that around 80 tourists can be kept in the village at one time. The locals perform various activities like dance, singing folk songs, and other activities to entertain the tourists. The tourists can also view Manaslu, Machhapuchre, Boudha, Lamjung, and Annapurna Mountain from the village.
The first home stay in the village was started in 2065 BS. The youth of the village are able to show the Buddhist culture of Gurung community in the village. There are group of Gurung Communities in the village. This village is situated 24 km away from the border Besisahar.
