Oktoberfest: The most happening event beet festival

KATHMANDU, Oct 02: Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest (beer festival and travelling funfair). Held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, It is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than six million people from around the world attending the event every year. The Oktoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture, being held since the year 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Oktoberfest celebrations that are modeled after the original Munich event.
The year 2010 marked the 200th anniversary of the Oktoberfest. For the anniversary, a horse race in historical costumes was held on opening day. A so-called historical Oktoberfest took place, starting one day earlier than usual on the southern part of the festival grounds. A specially brewed beer (solely available at the tents of the historical Oktoberfest), horse races, and a museum tent gave visitors an impression of how the event felt two centuries ago. In 2013, 6.4 million people visited Oktoberfest, and visitors were served 6.7 million liters of beer.
It has been 3 year since Nepal has started doing this fest in different hotels of the Kathmandu Valley. Oktoberfest is being conducted by hotels like Radisson, Annapurna and Hyatt. The event is accompanied by beer, good music and food.
At this German festival most hotels had organizes a theme décor, Bavarian menu, mandatory German beer, live music and German themed bow and belt for the waiters and so on. Oktoberfest is the like the most happening event in Munich and is being followed by Nepal too. Radisson hotel concluded its Oktober fest a few days ago.
