Photo exhibition 'Plains-Hills-Mountains' kicks off in Dhaka

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Embassy of Nepal, Dhaka in collaboration with Bangla Mountaineering and Trecking Club (BMTC), Dhaka organized a Photo-Exhibition titled “Plains-Hills-Mountains” at Drik Gallery-2, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Nepal's Ambassador to Bangladesh Prof. Dr. Chop Lal Bhusal and a renowned artist of Bangladesh Kanak Chanpa Chakma on 15 December, stated a press release issued by Embassy of Nepal, Dhaka.
During the program the speakers highlighted the vulnerability of South Asia due to climate change. They emphasized on sustainable development to protect the mother nature for future generation.
The programe was conducted by the Bangladeshi Mt. Everest Sumiteer Mr. M.A. Mohit. Various photographs taken by 13 Bangladeshi Mountaineers during their successful expeditions of five mountains including the Mt. Everest of Nepal are on display in the event.
The photo exhibition will continue for 3 days up to 17 December 2017. Earlier, on the occasion of International Mountain Day 11th December, a morning rally was organized from Chobir Hat to Shahid Minar where Bangladeshi Mountaineers, Professors & students from Dhaka University, Embassy officials, media persons and many other youths participated, the release noted.
It was followed by a Citizens Dialogue at the National Press Club, Dhaka where distinguished Economist Dr. Hossain Zillur Rahman, BMTC Founder President Enam Ul Haque, Deputy Chief of Mission of Nepalese Embassy Dhan Bahadur Oli and Mountain Everest Summiteers M. A. Mohit and Nishat Mazumdar highlighted the climate change and its impact on South Asia.
