PM pledges support for TAAN Tourist Memorial Park

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Friday pledged to provide all possible support for the construction of the TAAN Tourist Memorial Park.


Name of the trekkers who died in course of the trek in various trekking routes in the country will be inscribed in the memorial park.

Addressing the 38th general assembly of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) in the Capital on Friday, PM Dahal reaffirmed the seriousness of the government for the development of the physical infrastructures for the promotion of tourism.

Dahal was of the belief that Nepal's tourism business would make a remarkable stride if Nepal could attract tourists from neighbouring countries India and China.

TAAN President Chandra Prasad Rijal reiterated TAAN's efforts to further regulate and manage the tourism sector in the country.

On the occasion, three journalists and nine tourism entrepreneurs were feted for their contributions to tourism sector.
