Pokhara to be declared as tourism capital city

POKHARA, Sep 28: Preparations have been carried out to make Pokhara, one of the most preferred tourist destinations of Nepal as the capital city of Tourism. As Pokhara holds various tourism possibilities, Gandaki state, Industries, Tourism and Environmental conservation Ministry has decided to develop Pokhara as Pokhara has is going to be developed as tourism capital.

According to the Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Gandaki state, Bikash Lamsal, announced to declare Pokhara as the capital of tourism in the inauguration session of the 18th General Assembly and 10th conference of Pokhara Tourism Council. Infrastructures should be developed in order to declare Pokhara as capital of tourism, he added. He will be giving the proposal to the state government of each and every state and if it is approved by all the state governments then Pokhara will be declared as the capital of tourism.

Chief Executive of Kaski said that there should be proper development of infrastructures and then we can open Pokhara region for 24 hrs. If we are able to spread positive messages about Pokhara then we can fulfill our plans and policies.

Parliamentarian of Gandaki State, Rajiv Pahari emphasized on promoting Pokhara in international level. In between Businessmn of tourism umbrella association, Chiranjivi Pokharel has been appointed as the President. The working committee has been formed as Gopibahadur Bhattarai as Vice President, Dilli Prashad Gautam as General Secretary, Taranath Pahari as Secretary, Krishna Prashad Bhandari, Ramji Ghimre and Ramchandra Sharma as members.
