Prime Minister Oli offers well wishes to women journalists climbing Everest

KATHMANDU, Mar 09: Prime Minister K.P. Oli offered well wishes to the First Women Journalists' Everest Expedition 2018 team on the occasion of the International Women's Day.
The Prime Minister promised to offer support to the women mountaineers' team in a meeting at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar. He requested the female journalists to successfully complete the expedition and return safely. The team requested for the mountaineering royalties for their expedition to be pardoned and also requested for financial support from the government.
The First Women Journalists' Everest Expedition 2018 consists of Rosha Basnet (RSS), Priya Laxmi Karki (News 24 Television), Kalpana Maharjan (Mega Television), Rojita Buddhacharya (Nepal Television and BP Koirala memorial Planetarium Observatory and Science Museum Development Committee), and Deurali Chamling (Freelancer). The team is currently working to gather financial, material, and social support for their expedition.
The team has successfully scaled the Mt. Yalung Ri and Mt. Ramdung in the first stage of their training. They will also be climbing Mt. Lobuche before their Everest ascent. They will be making the ascent under the banner of the Federation of Nepal Journalists, and have received economic support from companies including Dreamers Destinations Trek and Expeditions, Baraha Jewellery, Kripa Foundation, Advance Cement, Norvik Hospital, Sahas Sports, Panchakanya Group, etc.
The team is being trained by renowned mountaineer Furwa Tenzing Sherpa and plans to live stream every step of their journey from the base camp to the peak.
