Runway of Bharatpur airport being blacktopped

KATHMANDU, June 11: After 17 years of establishment, Bharatpur Airport runway is being overall blacktopped. Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has provided 90 million rupees for the construction of the airport.
Chief of Bharatpur Airport, Pawan Kumar Gautam said that normally, the airport should be blacktopped with 10 years of establishment but due to various obstructions the airport couldn't be blacktopped in time. Gauri Parvat Construction company has taken the responsibility to blacktop the airport. The runway is 200 m long and 3 cm thick blacktop is being done. AT the same time, the airport is also going to manage parking.
The time schedule of the airport has been scheduled to 9:30 am - 3:00 pm. "During the time of repairing the runway, the flights are not operated, considering the emergency situations we are operating flights for few time," Gautam added. Buddha Air, Simrik Air and Yeti Air has been operating flights in the airport.
