Salam Air starts Kathmandu direct flight

KATHMANDU, Sep 11: Salam Air is the budget airlines from Oman has started its direct flights to Nepal. The first Muscat-Kathmandu flight landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu Tuesday morning.

The IME International Travel Pvt Ltd, a travel subsidiary of IME Group will be the company’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in Kathmandu.

Speaking at a press conference held at the TIA on the occasion, Vice President of FNCCI and Chairman of IME Group, Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that Salam Air would play an important role to make the government’s Visit Nepal 2020 programme a success, He also highlighted that the reduce the cost of the foreign employment for each employee offering the most affordable flight ticket.

The CEO of Salam Air Captain Mohamed Ahmed said flight will contribute to the country’s economic development.

Salam Air total four flights will be conducted every week.

Salam Air will land in Kathmandu at 8:00 am and take off at 8:40 am .

Salam Air has started its commericial operation 30 January 2017 making Muscat as its main hub. It has been operating flights to various 15 destinations using Airbus 320. Kathmandu has become the airlines 16th destination.

Salam Air has been flying Dhaka, Baku, Tiblisi, Doha, Dubai, Silkot, Multan, Karachi, Khartoum, Jedda, Salala, Suhar, Muscat and Kathmandu.
