SATA awards nominates 20 Nepali hotels

KATHMANDU, July 05: The South Asian Travel Awards has nominated 20 Nepali hotels for its 2018 awards. President of the South Asia Travels Award, Ismail Hameed, informed that Hotel Annapurna, Hotel Shangri La Kathmandu, Shangri La Resort Pokhara, Hotel Mulberry, Kathmandu Guest House, Temple Tree, Dahlia Pokhara, Jagatpur Lodge, Barahi Pokhara, Barahi Chitwan, Hotel Manaslu, Nepal Friends Hotel, are amongst the hotels nominated for this year's awards. The organization has nominated small to five-star hotels for awards.
"This award is taking place for the third time in South Asia. Before this, hotels from Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Nepal, and Bhutan were in the competition. It is a good sign for 20 hotels from Nepal to be nominated," said Hameed, "We organized a presentation of various hotels in Kathmandu, on the basis of which we chose our nominations."
The grand finale of the awards will take place at Taj Mahal Party Palace in Mumbai, on September 15 and 16. Organizer Ismail Hameed informed that the nominated hotels will have to conduct presentations again on the grand finale. The awards will be given on the basis of occupancy, property, and facilities. Nominations have been made in 21 different categories including boutique hotel, city hotel, business hotel, luxury hotel, etc.
SATA awards has been conducted yearly since 2016 to make tourism hotels in South Asia more organized and to strengthen tourism in the region.
