Saurya Airlines to be sold to entrepreneur group

KATHMANDU, July 27: Private airline company Saurya Airlines is to be sold to another party after only 4 years of establishment.
The airline, specializing in domestic flights through jet aircraft, had been  in economic difficulties in recent time having been unable to take over the expected market share. A team of non-resident Nepalis as well as resident citizens are preparing to purchase the airline, which is headed by entrepreneur Shyam Adhikari who has been conducting business in China. 

The new management will be taking over 600 million of the loans incurred by the existing management. The change in ownership will also be accompanied by a change in management team. The airline has been filling flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadi with a Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft. It has also gained permission to operate 7 flights a week.
