Separate Parking site to be constructed in TIA

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has constructed a safe plane parking site at Tribhuvan International Airport. In suspicion of presence of explosives, planes will be landed on the separate parking site.

Director General of CAAN , Sanjeev Gautam said that a new separate parking site has been constructed for security checks and the parking would help to secure other planes and airports from the danger. Two (330) and two ATR 72 planes will be parked till the end of the March. There were only nine parking sites for international flights before its commencement.

Construction of the 2,600 meters long and 65 meters wide parking site was commenced with a starting fund of 4 hundred 60 million. The Authority has constructed two large ships (330) parking sites in the fund of 5 million rupees. Now the Tribhuvan International Airport will have the capacity to park 13 international large ships. Engineer Chandanmani Sapkota, says the airport will be comfortable to make flights along with various other operations with the construction of the parking site.

Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Rabindra Adhikari has directed the authority and construction companies to complete any work within the specified date after the inspection. Adhikari says the construction will be completed the most minimal amount of time possible.
