Shree Airlines starts daily flights to Rajbiraj and Saptari

KATHMANDU, Jun 18: Shree Airlines will be operating daily flights in Rajbiraj, Saptati from June 24. The airlines will fly the Kathmandu-Rajbiraj route with a CRJ having jet engine for 5 days per week.
Anil Manandhar, Corporate Manager of Shree Airlines, said that the airlines will be operating on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The duration of the flight will be 24 minutes. With the operation of flights at Rajbiraj airport, the passengers going to eastern Siraha, Saptari and Udaypur districts will not have to visit Biratnagar or Janakpur.
The Rajbiraj airport, built in the year 2016, was closed since 2052. The tourism minister inaugurated the airport and it was re-constructed on September 16. Anil Manandhar informed that the flight was supposed to operate from June 15 but due to technical reasons flights are being delayed.
"The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has been working in the Rajbiraj airline including the necessary air traffic controller (ATC) and water supply arrangements," he said. "There is a delay as the company is trying to work for the promotion of the company.
Shree has been flying from three airplanes in five different states of the country from August 2017. It has 50-seat Bombardier CRJ 200 models built in Canada and a ship of 78-seat capacity of the CRJ 700 model.
Shree is currently flying to Bhairawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Bhadrapur and Biratnagar. Rajbiraj is going to be its sixth destination. The flight of the 700 model is operated in Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi whereas for other places CRJ 200 ship is operated.
