Starred hotels on the rise in 2017

KATHMANDU, Jan 07: According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, a new five-star hotel called Tiger Heritage has been established in Bhairahawa with the foreign investment of Silver Heritage Group.
As per the information provided by the Department of Tourism , three four-star hotels have been established and started operated outside Kathmandu Valley. They are Hotel Opera in Kanchanpur, Hotel Krishna in Nepalgunj and Hotel Ichchha in Simra. Apart from these, other hotels that will be considered four star hotels after the standard examination and classification by the Ministry are Hotel Soaltee Sibcream in Nepalgunj, Mystic Mountain Hotel in Nagarkot and Central Plaza in Kohalpur.
According to the Department of Tourism, there were 31 three-star hotel and in 2017, 3 more hotels have been classified as three star hotel which include the 125 roomed Hotel Marriott, the 63 roomed Hotel Mulberry, both in Thamel, and the 60 roomed Samana Hotel in Hetauda which brings the present total of three-star hotel to 34. Similarly, 23 tourist standard hotels have been added to the total of 485 till 2017.
