KATHMANDU, Dec 02: In view of the new variant of corona infection, Omicron, PCR report or full dose vaccination against corona has been made mandatory to enter Mustang district across the Himalayas.

After the second wave of Corona infection, the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting Mustang has recently increased. Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma said that the entry of Mustang has been tightened considering the risk of new variants of Corona virus recently seen in some countries of the world.

According to him, especially for tourists, those who do not have a PCR negative report within seven days or full amount of vaccine card or antigen test report within the last 72 hours are barred from entering. The meeting of the District Covid-19 Management Committee has decided that this condition will not be applicable for the permanent residents of Mustang and fully vaccinated staff, teachers and security personnel.

"We have tightened the rules for those who come to visit Mustang from 12 noon on December 1 to 12 noon on December 15. Apart from that, strict orders have been issued for various activities in the district," said Prajia Sharma.

The meeting of the District Covid-19 Management Committee has issued an order not to allow more than 25 people to gather in public places if they have to perform fairs, processions, festivals, banquets, bazaars and other necessary functions such as marriage, fasting and death rites.
