KATHMANDU, April 07: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to stop the Bisket Jatra to be celebrated in Bhaktapur.
A writ petition was filed in the Supreme Court after the district administration office decided to stop the procession saying that the corona infection had increased. On that case, Justice Purushottam Bhandari issued the interim order during the preliminary hearing.
The Bhaktapur Municipality has decided to celebrate the procession on Wednesday following the health standards. Earlier, a team comprising parliamentarian Prem Suwal and municipal people's representatives had called on the Chief District Officer to rectify the decision.
The municipality has made a five-point decision by holding a meeting with those concerned with the procession, saying that the problem could be complicated if the decision is delayed.
The meeting has decided to conduct Bhairavnath's chariot pulling, lingo raising and shielding procession in a civilized and peaceful manner by adopting health standards keeping in mind the risk of Covid-19.
