KATHMANDU: The month long Sri Swasthani Brata Katha has started from Thursday.
The Shree Swasthani Brata Katha, a popular ritual observed by the Hindus since Poush Shuklapurnima (full moon day), is beginning from today. The festival ends a month after in Magh Shuklapurnima
During this festival, devotees recite holy scriptures dedicated to Hindu goddess Swasthani and Lord Shiva. Unmarried women pray to get a good husband while those married pray for the longevity of their husbands by observing a month-long fast.
