TAAN Conducts Handover Ceremony to New Board Members

KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has conducted a handover ceremony to its new board members on Monday at the TAAN Secretariat, Maligaun. The ceremony officially handed over the responsibility to the 17 newly-elected members of the TAAN Executive Committee. The newly-elected board members will preside over their duties for a period of two years.
The coming two-year executive session of the association will be headed by Nabaraj Dahal as the President, with Khum Bahadur Subedi as the Senior Vice-President, Jeeban Thapa Magar as the First Vice-President, and Nilhari Bastola as the Second Vice-President. Similarly, the post of General Secretary is being held by Ang Pemba Sherpa, while Sujan Lamichhane is assuming the role of the Secretary. The roles of Treasurer and Joint Treasurer were handed over to Ram Krishna Timalsina and Tara Rana respectively.
The ceremony also handed over the roles to the new general members, namely, Jeeban Lama, Rabindra Adhikari, Gopal Shrestha, Baburam Gurung, Janga Bahadur Lama,Rajan Prasad Lama, Rajan Prasad Kapri, Shuk Bahadur Lama, Sher Bahadur Pariyar and Ritu Gyamdan as the Female Member.
The various speakers on that occasion including some of the past board members called for unity among the new board members as well as honesty and diligence in their actions. The newly-appointed President of TAAN, Nabaraj Dahal, said that he will continue the various initiatives started by the previous executive board. He also requested the rest of the association for support and unity for the duration of the board’s two-year session.
