KATHMANDU, Aug 08: The Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal has congratulated the Tourist Rescue Investigation Committee formed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation on successfully concluding its investigation into the wrongdoings in the tourist rescue sector.
In a press release published by TAAN, the organization has congratulated the committee for properly concluding it duty within the set deadline. It expressed the belief that the committee was successful in negating the detrimental press that the tourism sector of Nepal had been receiving in the past few months as a result of the issue of fake tourist rescues. The press release also expressed the hope that in the future, sensitive works such as emergency rescues would be allowed effective policies for timely action without administrative hindrances.
The press release also mentioned two major recommendations made by the investigation committee: making it compulsory to take the services of registered trekking companies to go on trekking expeditions, and also to hire a trekking guide with a valid license to go trekking in regions above 3000 meters, which have been suggested by TAAN since a long time back. The statement thanked the committee for keeping those demands in priority and expressed belief that those demands would soon be met.
