TAAN President congratulates new Incharge of Tourist Police Unit

KATHMANDU, Mar 04: President of the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nava Raj Dahal, welcomed the new Incharge of Tourist Police Unit, Rupa Thapa, at the TAAN Secretariat, Maligaun on February 28.

President Dahal stated that both TAAN and the Tourist Police are equally responsible for regulating the tourism sector and requested the Tourist Police to work hand-in-hand. He said that the Tourist Police should emphasize the Thamel area, heritage sites, and airport area where tourists face many hassles. He also asked the Tourist Police to appoint personnel who are familiar with the English language in order to assist tourists facing any problem. “We are always ready to support and help you in order to facilitate quality service of the tourist.” said President Dahal.

Rupa Thapa, Incharge of Tourist Police Unit, ensured TAAN that it will provide necessary the aid. She asked for suggestions to improve the quality of Nepalese tourism. She also requested TAAN to take proper actions to establish a better working environment for tourist police at Thamel and Bouddha area.

General Secretary Ang Pemba Sherpa, Exective Memebers Ritu Gyamdan and Ram Bahadur Khadka, CEO Tek Bahadur Mahat and Media Officer Subina Manandhar were present at the occasion.
