KATHMANDU, Jan 11: In the program organized Saturday on the occasion of the 10th Annual General Meeting of the Tourist Bus Association of Nepal (TBAN), it was informed that buses will be operated at new tourist destinations by promoting domestic tourism.
TBAN, which has been operating tourist bus services from Kathmandu to Pokhara, Chitwan and Lumbini, has stated that it will soon operate buses in Kerung, Muktinath, Rara, Bensisahar, Tatopani and Bardiya.
Speaking on the occasion, Achyut Guragain, President of Nepal Association of Tours and Travel Agents (NATTA), said that tourism entrepreneurs should unite for the promotion of domestic tourism.
"The government has not been able to bring relief to the tourism entrepreneurs affected by Covid-19. We have to agitate to save the tourism sector," he said. He said that there was a problem in the tourism sector due to lack of necessary consultations and discussions between the private sector and government bodies.
President of the TBAN, Ishwor Sharma, said that all the tourism entrepreneurs should unite and move forward to restore the tourism sector to its previous state. He said that there was a problem as there was no separate bus park for tourist buses.
